Please take note of the following Appointment Quick Tips before the visit with the physician at Cancer Institute of Florida:

  1. Make the doctor aware if you need refills for any of your prescriptions. Be sure to ask if you have any questions or need any further instructions regarding your medications, as well.
  2. If your physician instructs you to have a lab test completed, make sure you have your lab script to take to the facility. Please note: Your nurse will call you when your results are in. Lab results are usually available within 1-3 days after the lab work has been completed.
  3. If your physician orders a scan for you, be sure to have your order before you leave today. Due to the sensitivity of the information, imaging results are not allowed to be given over the phone. The front desk will schedule a follow-up appointment so your doctor can go over the results with you. If your lab or scan results need to be sent to another physician, please give his/her information to the front desk so we can be sure the results are received.
  4. If you need a copy of your medical records sent to another physician’s office, see the front desk for a release form that you can complete for your request*.
  5. Most importantly, don’t forget to schedule your next appointment with us before you leave!
